guest houses bed and breakfast in Wales

Wales, UK

There are many guesthouses in the listings of Guest House Rooms.

Wales makes a splendid holiday destination and is well served by many holiday cottages, apartments and hotels. Although Wales represents only around 8% of the area of the United Kingdom, it contains many places of interest and outstanding natural beauty, including the Mountains of Snowdonia. You can find a guest house in our listings.

Wales has varying landscapes with many miles of coastline, rivers and freshwater lakes, making it an ideal place for water sports. It is also well know as a vacation destination for other outdoor pursuits such as caving, climbing and mountainairing.

Aside from the 'great outdoors' there are many places of interest to visit such as castles, museums and theatres. There are many National Trust properties to visit, too. The larger towns and cities also provide cinemas and places to shop. You can locate guest houses or bed and breakfast lodgings in this site.

The weather in Wales is temperate, seldom very cold or very hot and the warmest months are from May to August The autumn (or fall) is very pretty when the leaves on the trees change colour and slowly fall to the ground.

The main language is English although on average around 20% of the population speak Welsh. In mid and North Wales this rises markedly with 40% to 60% speaking Welsh as their first language.

Wales is an excellent place for walking holidays, playing golf, fishing the many rivers or just relaxing and enjoying the fantastic views - or perhaps talking with the local friendly folk who live here!

Note: Wales is divided into 22 unitary authorities for local government purposes. There are 10 county boroughs, 3 cities and 9 counties, although all have equal status. They are known as the principal areas of Wales and came into being on April 1, 1996.
